01Define the production-intent pack-out
Identify speaker hardware, firmware and battery, retail carton, protective inserts, bags, cables, manuals, inner pack and shipping carton by revision. Record quantity, gross weight, dimensions, closure method and product orientation. A hand-made sample package should be labeled as such.
02Map product vulnerabilities
Before testing, note grille, controls, ports, feet, handles, lights, decorative surfaces, internal clearances and accessory contact points. Photograph the pristine product and package. The map helps connect later cracks, rub marks or rattles with insufficient restraint or protection.
03Choose the distribution profile
Describe parcel, pallet, retailer or mixed handling; route; stacking; orientation limits; climate exposure; and known customer requirements. Have a qualified packaging party select the applicable recognized procedure and assurance level. Do not call several informal drops a certified transport test.
04Record conditioning and sequence
Log sample count, conditioning environment and duration, equipment identification, input levels, faces, edges and corners, durations and order of events. Record deviations or interruptions as they occur. Keep packages sealed until the chosen inspection point so protection is not reset mid-test.
05Inspect every packaging layer
Photograph shipping carton, inner pack, retail box, inserts, bags and accessories in opening order. Map crushing, puncture, opening, abrasion, migration, moisture, print damage and loss of restraint. Distinguish cosmetic retail damage from failures that expose or harm the product.
06Repeat product function checks
Inspect the enclosure, grille, ports, buttons, lights and internal rattle before powering on. Then repeat defined charging, pairing, reconnect, controls and audio passages using the same host-device record as the pre-test baseline. Quarantine swollen, hot, damaged or abnormal battery-powered units.
07Correct, retest and control production
Connect each failure to insert geometry, board grade, clearance, closure, orientation, pack quantity or product support. Approve changes by revision and repeat the relevant complete sequence. Add production checks for material identity, dimensions, pack-out and carton labeling so the tested configuration is the shipped configuration.
