01Confirm identity and starting condition
Record model, sample ID, finish, firmware when applicable, supplied cable and initial charge indicators. Photograph all sides before testing. Note dust, film, protective inserts and any shipping damage so handling marks are not confused with factory defects.
02Inspect fit, finish and alignment
Under the agreed lighting, check gaps, steps, sharp edges, sink marks, scratches, contamination, color difference and print position. View the closed case from front, back and sides. Compare against the approved sample rather than an unrelated product photo.
03Exercise hinge and lid behavior
Open and close the lid through repeated normal cycles. Feel for rubbing, looseness, asymmetric resistance, excessive play and unstable open position. Check whether the lid sits evenly and whether movement changes after several cycles. Record the count used; do not call it a life test without an agreed endurance method.
04Check both earbud pockets
Insert and remove each side several times. Confirm orientation, magnetic pull, retention, release grip and whether an earbud can sit incorrectly while appearing closed. Inspect pins and contact surfaces, then gently move the seated earbuds to look for intermittent charging.
05Verify indicators against real events
Observe the case while empty, while each earbud is inserted, while the lid opens or closes and while external power connects. Compare colors, flashes and app readings with the user instructions. Record ambiguous or incorrect states as usability defects even if power transfer occurs.
06Run controlled charging checks
Use the agreed cable and compatible power source. Confirm port alignment, stable connection, both earbud charge events and one case recharge. Add the separate battery-life sheet when timing or recharge cycles matter. Never use damaged cables or improvise electrical safety tests.
07Escalate abnormal safety symptoms
Stop use and isolate a sample showing swelling, leakage, smoke, strong odor, damaged cells, scorching or unusual heat. Do not reopen, puncture or keep charging it for diagnosis. Record the event and route it to the supplier and an appropriately qualified battery or product-safety professional.
