01Write the decision question
Clarify whether the service is asked for a brand-attribution opinion, model or period identification, document review, material test or condition observation. One answer should not be stretched into the others. Record the intended marketplace and why the conclusion is needed.
02Identify the actual service provider
Record legal business name, contact, reviewer role, service terms and report-verification method. Do not describe an independent service as the brand, a government body or an authorized representative unless that status is documented for the exact service.
03Separate physical and remote review
List whether the reviewer handles the item or relies on supplied photographs, video, measurements and documents. For remote work, retain the exact files submitted. Missing angles, altered images or unmatched identifiers can narrow what the opinion reasonably covers.
04Record methods without inventing expertise
Ask which visual, construction, identifier, archive, material or instrument checks form part of the service and which do not. Keep proprietary-method descriptions as the provider states them. Do not add claims about databases, laboratories or technology that the provider has not confirmed.
05Read exclusions and result language
Capture whether modified, repaired, vintage, incomplete or low-image-quality items are excluded. Record possible outputs such as pass, not pass, unable to determine or further review required. An inconclusive result should stay inconclusive.
06Check traceability and recourse
Confirm report number, issue date, item images, online verification, retention period, correction procedure and any remedy or liability limit. A screenshot of a result page is weaker operationally when buyers cannot match it to the item or verify it later.
07Approve listing language separately
Create one exact public sentence tied to the report, date and provider. Have the responsible seller review whether the wording is permitted and understandable. Avoid official, certified, guaranteed authentic or lifetime claims unless the evidence and service terms specifically support them.
