01Standard configuration selection
Begin with existing housing colors, ear tips, cable, instructions and package structures. Standard choices can reduce setup and approval work, but still require a written model, color and accessory reference. Ask whether any option changes internal components or document mapping.
02Logo on earbuds or case
Specify location, size, color, orientation and application method. Request a placement proof and physical sample. Check durability, surface contrast and alignment on the actual material, then retain the approved vector file and production reference.
03Color and surface finish
Use a physical or controlled color reference rather than a screen sample alone. Record housing, stem, case, hinge, indicator and accessory colors separately. Ask whether finish changes affect tooling, yield, scratch visibility or quantity.
04Packaging and printed materials
Treat box, sleeve, labels, manual, warranty card and master carton as a dedicated approval set. Record dieline, materials, finish, languages, barcode and required market fields. Product art must match the final physical version.
05Firmware, controls and prompts
Document Bluetooth display name, control map, voice language, tone, reset sequence, noise-mode order and app behavior when applicable. Software changes require a version identifier, test plan and recovery path, not only a screenshot.
06Hardware and tooling changes
A different battery, microphone, driver, connector, antenna, housing feature or tool can affect function, documents, reliability and lead time. Require engineering confirmation, a new sample and a review of which prior evidence remains applicable.
07Sample ladder
Use digital placement, appearance sample, functional sample and packed approval sample as needed. Do not order a full run because a flat artwork proof looks correct. Name which sample approves color, print, function, package and shipment.
08Reorder revision control
Assign a revision to product, firmware and packaging. A reorder should state all three, plus approved files and permitted substitutions. Reconfirm old samples when materials, components, software or suppliers change.
